Producer and actress Kristin West is a Texan talent with cosmopolitan appeal. Raised in rural south Texas, West’s training includes the Globe Theatre in London, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and the University of Texas Semester in Los Angeles Program. West graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, with a B.S. in Radio-TV-Film and was distinguished as a Terry Scholar and was also a participant in the university’s prestigious Shakespeare at Winedale Program.
West’s work has garnered the attention of film festivals. Her films have played at such esteemed festivals as Cannes Short Film Corner, San Antonio Film Festival, Culver City Film Festival, Action on Film and Mumbai Shorts International Film Festival, among many others. West may best known for her guest star role on Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”. Kristin is also a scream queen with recent horror movie appearances in The Litch, The Carting Call, Seeking Valentina, The Spirit Room and Circus of the Dead.
Kristin played the title role of Valentina in Armin Nasseri’s thriller short “Seeking Valentina”. Seeking Valentina was nominated for the prestigious Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award for Best Short Film. Kristin was honored as Best Actress in a Short Film at FANtastic Horror Film Festival for her role of Valentina in Seeking Valentina. West was also honored with the Golden Reel Short Film at the Las Vegas Galaxy Film Awards. She was also nominated for her performance in Seeking Valentina by the Idyllwild Festival of Cinema and nominated for the Mary Austin Producing Award by this esteemed festival. Seeking Valentina also garnered the Best Short prize at the 2016 RIP Film Festival of Los Angeles.
West continues to attach herself to exciting projects of many genres. She was on TruTV’s Rachel Dratch’s Late Night Snack, alongside famed comedy duo Tripp & Tyler and Joey Piscopo. The Carting Call, a short film by Armin Nasseri is currently screening at film festivals world-wide. She is currently in post-production on her first feature, The Central Authority, which she co-directed with Armin Nasseri.
West has had the honor interviewing luminaries such as Amy Newmark of the Chicken Soup for the Soul book franchise, former TODAY Show Anchor Jenna Wolfe and many others. West is an Influencer on the MOGUL website, a women-centric site that focuses on empowering women of all walks of life.
West’s most recent project is “Horrror Talk with Kristin West”, a collaboration with Polar Underworld Productions, where West interviews top horror stars as they are out and about in Los Angeles. The show is currently in its fifth season and is available on Facebook, YouTube, Spotify, iHeart Radio and other premiere podcast outlets.
West is a proud supporter of Feeding America as well as many local organizations that combat food insecurity and hunger. Additionally, Kristin was honored to judge the Inland Empire Media Academy Film Festival Awards in 2015, 2016 and 2017. West moderated the “Student Filmmakers” panel at the 16th Annual Bare Bones International Film Festival and she was also part of the inaugural “Women in Film” panel at the 22nd Annual San Antonio Film Festival in 2016. West was named to the Jury of the Chicago Independent Film Festival in 2016. She is currently a celebrity juror for the Quarantini Monthly Film Festival. West is also a critic for the prestigious NYC Midnight Writing Competition.
